How Reddit monitoring works

BuyerSpotter is a Chrome extension that monitors Facebook groups, Reddit, LinkedIn, X (Twitter) and Nextdoor for posts where someone asks to buy, hire or get a recommendation, and alerts you so you can reply yourself. On Reddit, your phrases run as searches across all of Reddit, or only in subreddits such as r/smallbusiness or a city subreddit that you add. Reddit is read without signing in, so you do not need a Reddit account to use it.

All of Reddit or chosen subreddits?

Start with all of Reddit if your phrases are specific, for example "recommend a bookkeeper" or "looking for a Shopify developer". If a broad phrase brings in too many unrelated posts, switch to a list of subreddits where your customers ask for help, and add exclusions such as "hiring" or "for hire".
